Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Retail Assistant

As part of our exciting expansion, Cannonvale Medical Centre is launching a new Pharmacy Products Division, and we are seeking a Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Retail Assistant to join our growing team.

Cannonvale Medical Centre is one of the Whitsundays’ leading healthcare providers, offering a range of medical, cosmetic medicine, and health services to our local community and the many visitors who travel to the region each year. Our new pharmacy products division will further enhance the care and convenience we provide to our patients.

We are looking for a full-time pharmacy products technician and retail professional who is self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

This role offers Monday to Friday working hours, allowing for a healthy work–life balance while being part of a dynamic and expanding healthcare environment.

If you have experience or a keen interest in compounding, this role will provide an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in this specialised area of pharmacy. However, previous compounding experience is not essential. Our experienced off site compounding pharmacists will provide training and support to help you develop your knowledge and confidence in this area.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive professional advice, quality products, and outstanding service.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will engage with patients and customers daily, providing guidance and support across a range of pharmacy products and services.

This is a busy and varied role where organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting pharmacists with dispensing activities in accordance with Pharmacy Board guidelines
• Ordering and managing stock, including daily and bulk supplier orders
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the dispensary and retail areas
• Remaining up to date with PBS legislative requirements affecting pharmacy operations
• Providing exceptional customer service and product advice
• Maintaining accurate stock control and inventory integrity
• Supporting the pharmacy team in day-to-day operations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in retail pharmacy or pharmacy technician work (preferred)
• A strong work ethic and commitment to excellent customer service
• A caring, attentive, and professional approach with patients and customers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A positive, proactive and adaptable attitude
• Professional presentation and grooming
