ACRRM / Rural Focus
Cannonvale Medical Centre – Whitsundays, QLD

Support Overseas-Trained Doctors | PFP Incentives | Coastal Rural Practice

Cannonvale Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Supervisor General Practitioner to support doctors participating in the Pre-Fellowship Program (PFP) and rural training pathways, including overseas-trained doctors working toward Fellowship.

This role is ideally suited to a FRACGP or FACRRM who values rural medicine, clinical leadership, and mentoring, and who wants to play a meaningful role in strengthening the regional medical workforce — while enjoying the lifestyle of the Whitsundays.

About the Practice

Cannonvale Medical Centre is a well-established, mixed-billing regional practice servicing the Whitsundays community. We are actively involved in rural training pathways, integrated care models, and supervision programs, including support for internationally trained doctors transitioning into Australian general practice.

Our team is collaborative, well-supported by experienced nursing and administration staff, and committed to delivering high-quality, ethical, patient-centred care in a regional setting.

The Supervisor Role

As a Supervisor GP, you will:

  • Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to doctors enrolled in the Pre-Fellowship Program (PFP)

  • Support overseas-trained doctors as they progress toward Fellowship

  • Meet ACRRM and/or RACGP supervision standards

  • Maintain a hands-on clinical role within the practice

  • Contribute to clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement

  • Work closely with practice leadership to ensure a supportive, structured training environment

The role can be tailored to suit your availability, with flexible supervision and clinical session arrangements.

PFP Supervisor Incentives

This position includes access to Government PFP Supervisor Incentives, recognising the additional time and responsibility involved in supporting doctors on rural training pathways.

Incentives are designed to:

  • Support high-quality supervision

  • Offset time commitments

  • Strengthen rural and regional medical workforce sustainability

Full details can be discussed confidentially.

About You

  • FRACGP or FACRRM (or equivalent)

  • Accredited Supervisor or eligible and willing to become accredited

  • Strong interest in rural medicine, training, and workforce development

  • Confident supporting overseas-trained doctors through structured supervision

  • Professional, patient-focused, and community-minded

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive clinical and supervision remuneration

  • Access to PFP Government supervisor incentives

  • Flexible full-time or part-time arrangements

  • Modern facilities with excellent nursing and admin support

  • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to rural workforce development

  • The lifestyle benefits of the Whitsundays region — coastal living, community connection, and genuine work-life balance

Location – Whitsundays, QLD

Cannonvale offers the best of rural coastal medicine — professional variety, strong community ties, and access to world-class beaches and islands. Ideal for GPs seeking purpose, balance, and regional impact.

If this sounds like something you would like to do and are able to assist someone in growing their career in the Australian system, we would be delighted to hear from you.
