GP Anaesthetist – Day Surgery Sessions

Cannonvale Medical Centre is seeking a skilled and confident GP Anaesthetist to provide anaesthetic services for our expanding Day Surgery program in the beautiful Whitsundays region.

This is a unique opportunity to combine procedural anaesthetics with an exceptional coastal lifestyle.

🏥 The Opportunity

We are growing our visiting specialist and day surgery services and require a GP Anaesthetist to support:

  • Visiting surgeons (including general surgery and procedural lists)

  • Planned day surgery sessions

  • Procedural sedation where appropriate

  • Collaborative perioperative care within a well-supported team

Sessions are flexible and can be structured as:

  • Regular weekly or fortnightly lists

  • Block sessions

  • Fly-in/fly-out arrangements (if preferred)

✅ Essential Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • FRACGP or FACRRM

  • Advanced Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (or equivalent recognised qualification)

  • Demonstrated experience in procedural anaesthesia

  • Eligibility for Medicare provider number

  • Competitive sessional or percentage-based remuneration
