Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon

Cannonvale Medical Centre is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to establish visiting consulting and pre and post procedural sessions in the Whitsundays region.

🦴 The Opportunity

We are looking for a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon interested in:

  • Outpatient orthopaedic consultations

  • Pre- and post-operative management

  • Musculoskeletal injury assessment

  • Sports injuries and degenerative joint conditions

  • Minor procedures and injection therapies

  • Development of day surgery lists (where appropriate)

Sessions can be structured as:

  • Monthly or fortnightly clinics

  • Block consulting sessions

  • Fly-in/fly-out arrangements

  • Expansion into procedural day surgery lists (where appropriate)

There is strong referral demand from local GPs and surrounding regional communities.

✅ Essential Requirements

  • Specialist Registration with AHPRA

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – Orthopaedics)

  • Eligibility for Medicare provider number
