Speech Pathologist – Community & Clinic-Based Role

Cannonvale Medical Centre is seeking a passionate and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our growing allied health team in the beautiful Whitsundays region.

About the Role

In this full-time (or part-time negotiable) position, you will provide assessment, intervention, evaluation and reporting for individuals and groups, working across a range of service delivery models including:

  • Clinic-based appointments

  • Community outreach (where applicable)

  • NDIS and private clients

  • Early intervention programs

  • School-aged and adult caseloads (depending on your experience and interest)

You will collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, families and carers to support optimal communication, swallowing and developmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based speech pathology assessments and interventions

  • Develop, implement and review individualised therapy plans

  • Provide clear and comprehensive clinical reports

  • Monitor and evaluate therapy outcomes

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Communicate effectively with clients, families and key stakeholders

  • Deliver education sessions and support programs where appropriate

  • Maintain accurate electronic clinical records

  • Participate in supervision, professional development and ongoing training

About You

You are a compassionate and client-focused Speech Pathologist who values collaboration, community impact and professional growth.

Essential:

  • Eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working with paediatric and/or adult community caseloads

  • Experience with NDIS clients

  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

Requirements

  • Current membership (or eligibility) with Speech Pathology Australia

  • Working With Children Check (QLD)

  • National Police Check

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

  • Current Driver’s Licence
