Conditions:
Working in an outreach clinic of an Indigenous health service, you will be working supported by another GP, admin staff and Aboriginal Health workers. This is a well-organised, popular role and each community presents a new experience. This is remote work so previous experience is required. The community of Aurukun is located on the north-west coast of the Cape York Peninsula, 178km by road south of the mining town of Weipa and 811km north from Cairns. Aurukun is one of the larger communities in the Cape with a population of 1,269 (2016 census) including 1,147 identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Most residents are Traditional owners of the shire and surrounding lands.
Credentials:
FRACGP/VR Status with Medicare. ALS2 or equiv essential.
