$2300 - $2500 per day Combination of general practice and emergency care Includes travel, accommodation, and car rental
Are you a rural generalist seeking an extraordinary experience?
Would you thrive in living and practicing at the northernmost tip of Australia?
Bamaga, a remote town in Far North Queensland and the unofficial capital of the Northern Peninsula Area, is culturally rich with a significant Aboriginal population. This position is well supported by rural generalists, highly skilled nurses, and visiting specialists. Doctors appreciate Bamaga for its supportive environment, relaxed pace of medicine, unique medical presentations (tropical diseases, insect/snake bites), and welcoming community.
Patient presentations primarily align with general practice, with occasional emergencies. The on-call component is scheduled at a ratio of 1:3-1:4. Vacancies are ongoing throughout 2023, with a minimum stint of two weeks.
Direct flights to Bamaga are available from Cairns.
Locum GPs are required to hold their FRACGP or FACRRM certification.
